Favorite Music: What do you like and why?

With so many types of music to choose from, there is something just about for everyone. Personally, I enjoy listening to jazz and country western music. I find both of them soothing and often inspirational, especially when the song has a message that lifts the spirit. One particular song I have enjoyed is "Anything" by Martina McBride. In the song, she says that even when life gets difficult, we have to move forward and do things anyway.

So, what about you? What kind of music do you like and why? Do you have a favorite song, and if so, why do you like it? Please share your ideas.

  1. I love country western music very much. I mainly listen to two kinds of radio channels when I drive. One is local news channel, it give me the information of traffic, weather and daily news. Another is country music channel. Honestly, with my English lever, I can’t catch some of the lyrics, but I do love the melodies. Every time I hear the country music, it always gives me a kind of special impression which is a kind of mixing feeling of loneliness and calmness, love and happiness, pure and tranquility, humour and fearless, healthy and strong, optimism and initiative. I also love to watch the country music TV channel and movies, like 'Walk the Line' which tells the store about Johnny Cash and June Carter, both of them were famous country music singers, and ‘Pure Country’ which is a contemporary country & western love story about a popular country singer who finds love and returns to a simpler life. Certainly there are lots of beautiful country folk songs in the movies.

  3. I suppose it depends on my mood. I consider myself musically open-minded, so I like a little bit of everything: reggae, pop, rock, R&B... However, I do think the music I listen to is the reflection of my feelings at the moment. Right now, one of the songs I love is Patty Bravo, called 'Pensiero Stupendo'. It was famous in the 70s but makes me feel so nice... Because it is very slow and melancholic, probably that's how I feel in this stage of my life I'm coming through, Do you know it?
Your blog and website are really nice and a great help for me.

  4. Hello! I really enjoy psychedelic rock of the seventies, like Jeferson Airplane, The Doors, Donovan...Woodstock festival seemed to be great! I like these years, it was freedom, people were looking for peace. Actually I'm listenning to rock, jazz, electronic music. I'm not very fond of French music. Music soothes me, it make me feel better, I always listen to it,I would say I can't live without it.

  5. Well, to start off, I have very eclectic taste in music. I listen to almost everything that has a nice beat and a "contagious" rhythm. It doesn't really matter if it's classical music or heavy metal as long as , as you have nicely put it, it lifts up the spirit.
I've been listening to lots of rock songs lately. I enjoy the energy they put in their songs. It's a good way to start the day.

  8. I really like classical musics composed by Mozart, Bach, for exapmle. They make me calm, especially J.S.Bach's musics are brilliant. There is no unnecessary decoration but the clear melodies are so beautiful. Maybe J-Pops are also good but I sometimes feel they are loud. Anyway, I can't imagine a life without music.

  9. I usually listen to pop music because it makes me exciting, but I think all kind of music is great. I listen to Classic music, especially Mozart and Saint-Saens when I’d like to relax. I’d rather listen to Jazz than Classic when I’d like to dance to the music.
