If someone were to visit your area, what unique souvenir could he/she pick up for family and friends? Personally, I live near the Great Salt Lake, one of the largest salt water lakes in the world. And because the salt content is much higher than the ocean, you can easily float on the surface. Every year, I take students to the Great Salt Lake to swim, and it's a fun adventure, plus there are over 500 buffalo (bison) on the island where we go, so you can see a lot of wildlife.
Well, this leads to the unusual souvenir. You can buy a salt water candy (taffy) that many people would enjoy. You can also purchase bath salts and even table salt from the lake.

I think a "berimbau" is a unique souvenir. It is a traditional Brazilian musical instrument that is played while people do "capoeira". "Capoeira" is a blend of martial art and dance. People from all over the world come to Brazil to see people do it.
ReplyDelete"Kibidango" is a famous souvenir in Okayama Prefecture, Japan. It is a kind of pudding, and is made from glutinous rice, syrup which is made from rice, starch syrup, and millet. Also, it has many kinds of tastes. Soybean flour and white peach, for example.
ReplyDeleteHowever many people say that the best survenir from Hiroshima, Japan is "Momijimanju", I would like you to bring back your country not only it, but also what you learned about peace from this one of the most important cities for peace.
ReplyDeleteThe best gifts are those that can only be found locally on that place. Anything really, from hats to local products like dried mangoes (lol) or bath salts can be a good idea.
ReplyDelete"Momizimanju" is a souvenir of Hiroshima, Japan. It is made from bean paste and paste. Recently, there are many kinds of tastes. They are chocolate, Pqwdered green tea, cream and so on.
ReplyDeleteI live in Hirosima prefecture, Japan, and there is a famous island called "Miyajima". In Miyajima, you can buy "momijimanju". It is like a small sponge cake shaped like a maple leaf, and some sweet bean paste is in the cake. But there are some variation of inside.
