English Only in the Classroom

How important is it for teachers and students to only use English, or the language they are studying, in the classroom? Does it promote better learning, or are their times when the native language of the teacher and students be used instead? Share your ideas on the topic?

  5. I think it's very important that the teacher tries to keep the lesson in English. Also, I think that it's important for the students in the classroom to try to speak as much English as possible. That way, they'll find out which words and phrases they lack personally.

I teach at the intermediate level in Sweden.
