School Lunches: What and where do children eat?

In schools across the world, children who go to school might have some sort of lunch during the day. However, where they eat and what they eat might be influenced by culture or local circumstances. For instance, in many schools in the United States, there is a lunch room where students can buy lunch. In the lower grades, there is a set meal which often includes some basic main item (chicken sandwich), plus some vegetables, and fruit. There are usually two choices. Of course, children can bring a lunch from home, which might include a sandwich, chips, an apple or similar fruit, and a cookie. What about in your country or area?

  1. going to the school is somehome unconvenient to you when you don't eat with your family. In my country, and more specific, in my university, eating lunches has a lot of fun eventhough it has some unconvenience.
My university has its own place for all students to eat at. IT called CAN-TIN (origin from my stone - language). At there, students are service with many facilitis for eating. Cheap, and abundant for you to choice for lunch. From rice with many cooked food, it looks very delicous as the meal at your home to the fast-food for rushed students don't have enough time to eat rice at CAN-TIN. The menu of cooked food at CANTIN is varied from day to day in a week. So, if students have to eat at CAN-TIN regularly, they will not feel bored. Furthermore, the most remarkable of my university's CANTIN it is very compatable for students, who using money basically from family. It's so cheap but also very good.

  2. Children who go to elementary school eat lunch in their classrooms in Japan. Everybody eats school lunch considered about well-valanced food value and is taught not to leave a part of meal; not to waste food. If they don't like one plate of the lunch, they can reduce the amount. If they can't eat all of the loaf of bread, they bring the leftover home in a bag which they have brought from home. In the classroom they dish out their lunch wearing masks and apron and clean up after lunch by themselves .

  3. My motherland is china. It is common that students can go home to own their delicious luch because it is free time between the last class in the morning and the first class in the afternoon. Certainly, there are students whose homes are far away from school. Eating in the school or some places close to school is another good choice.

  4. In my living area, Hsinchu ,Taiwan, all the elementary school students will have their lunch at school. Because the lunch provided by the government is free. Therefore, those children can enjoy both nutritious and delicious food in school. It helps to solve some problems. For some lowered - income family, they won’t afford to give theie children nutritious food everyday. Also, some busy parents who don’t have time to prepare luch everyday. Thus, it’s really good policy for our children.

  5. Although many schoolchildren take advantage of the cheap and well nutrition lunch provided by schools in Taiwan, still many other poor students couldn't afford it. The problem has been caught the attention of the society and led to fundraising activity to help them. In my opinion, the nutrition lunch in schools is the better way for students. Today there a great "delicious attraction" of all kind of junk food everywhere around children lives. We should pay more attention to take good care our bodies bychoosing right food.

  6. It is important to know that having a healthy lunch helps you to be more active during the day and more for children who are participating actively in different activities in or out a claaroom. Unfortunately, in Mexico, children prefer eating at school rather than at home and that is a bad habit because at schools they buy and eat junk food and not healthy food. I think parents and teachers should work together in order to avoid serious problems as for example, gastriris, that can damage children's health and their capability to develop their learning process.
